Mr. Lam is a partner at the law firm of Copilevitz & Canter, LLC. He works primarily in the areas of corporate, tax and charitable fundraising law. His work focuses on nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations. Mr. Lam handles the formation, structuring, and qualification of exempt organizations. Mr. Lam advises on matters such as public charity status, intermediate sanctions, lobbying, political activities, the unrelated business income rules, the use of supporting organizations, and fundraising. Nonprofit clients come to Mr. Lam for both general counsel services and for specialized service in connection with charitable fundraising regulation and taxation issues.
Mr. Lam is a member of the Kansas and Missouri Bars. He has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of the States of Kansas and Missouri, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
